Residential care means
there’s always someone there for you or your loved one.
Sometimes, living alone is no longer the best option. While everyone wants to feel independent, frailty, health conditions and social isolation can mean that moving into a safe residential community is actually better for independence than struggling at home alone. Specialist carers can support a range of complex conditions, meaning fewer visits to the doctor. Care homes are designed to be safe and accessible, and while you can bring mobility aids into a home, you can’t be there every second of every day to make sure your loved one doesn’t trip.
Finding the right care home is really important. No one wants to feel like they’re living in a clinical environment. That’s what makes Village Care Homes so special. We understand that our home is your loved one’s home. We aim to make them feel happy, settled and to spend more quality time with visitors and new friends alike.
Why choose us?
Village Care Homes runs three nursing and residential care homes in Leyland and Blackpool. We offer long-term care and a home away from home for those looking for respite care or a short stay somewhere comfortable and cosy.
Our care packages are tailored to suit the needs of each resident. The only thing they all have in common is that they’re designed to keep your loved ones safe, secure, happy and feeling cared for. And they’ll be regularly reviewed to make sure we’re always providing the right level of care.
Permanent Residence
Village Care Homes are comfortable,
well-equipped to support a range of needs, and provide a stimulating community for residents.
Acorn Nursing Home
Based in the seaside town of Blackpool, Acorn Nursing Home caters to people living with complex conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. It’s just the right size to create a close-knit community for residents and staff.
Lostock Grove Rest Home
This calming rest home in the heart of Lancashire has housed elderly residents for more than 20 years. It supports people living with disability, sensory impairment, mental health conditions and adults over the age of 65 in Leyland.
“Karen and the team are superb. The home is very clean and tidy and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place. [I receive] constant updates and am made to feel there is an open door policy.”

Who We Support
We care for people who need round the clock support or peace of mind that someone will always be there when they need them.
Our teams include qualified nurses to help manage medical conditions, and we also provide social care for the elderly, people living with disabilities, and those with complex conditions such as dementia.
We have two care homes in Leyland and one in Blackpool. All three homes provide short, medium or permanent care depending on the needs of the individual receiving it.
